Living Plant Collections

Reliably named living collections are an invaluable resource in establishing the correct identity of plants in cultivation.

Plant Network promotes botanical collections in Britain and Ireland as a resource for research, conservation and education. In the USA the American Public Gardens Association contributes to the understanding of the nomenclature and taxonomy of cultivated plants as part of its remit.

Individuals and institutions with a special interest in a particular group of plants often take on the status of National Plant Collection holders. Details of all these collections and their holders can be found on the Plant Heritage website.

Provided below are links to the websites of gardens that have used their collections in research relating to the nomenclature and taxonomy of cultivated plants.
